First of all, I would like to clarify that it is all very personal. Not in terms, we must not discuss such private things but in terms of the speed of hair growth and the organism peculiarities of each person.

Generally speaking, after we shave the legs, the first stubble tends to appear in a couple of days of in a few days. If we let it grow, then I guess it would reach its normal length in several weeks (up to a month).

For this reason, most women choose to undergo the shaving procedure every day or every other day to keep the skin of the legs always smooth.

Some Interesting Facts About Hair Growth And Not Only

Some Interesting Facts About Hair Growth And Not Only

You probably noticed that your hair doesn’t grow the same fast as the hair of other people, your friends, or family members, for instance. That is because of the speed of its growth significantly hangs upon our genetics, hormonal state, diet, and the overall state of health.

But these are not the only curious facts about our locks!

  1. The hair on our heads grows about six inches a year. The only thing in our bodies that has a faster speed of growth is the bone marrow.
  2. Men grow their hair faster compared to women because of the impact of testosterone. So perhaps, if you are a woman and your hair grows too fast (as you assume), you should check your level of this hormone.
  3. We lose between sixty to one hundred strands of hair every day! It happens because follicles grow hair for years at a time, but then they take a sort of break. Since the process of follicle growth is not synchronized evenly, some of them “take a break” which leads to hair loss.
  4. Over the years, some follicles stop growing. This is why old people have thinner hair or they become bald.
  5. Our hair can only grow to a certain length beyond which it will never reach! That is highly dependant on our genetics, and usually, Asians can grow their locks longer compared to Europeans. However, when reaching a certain point of length, our hair gets heavier making the follicle unable to hold it so it sheds the hair.

If we fight hair on the body when it comes to head it’s completely opposite. Many girls dream of having long and silky strands, however, growing healthy and strong hair is quite a challenge. And even though your genetics plays a huge role, it is possible to accelerate the hair growth rate:

  • Add more seafood to your diet, and don’t forget about zinc, biotin, and iron to keep the tresses nourished.
  • The hair reflects our general state of health. If any diseases are present, it will be very difficult or even impossible to grow good-looking and long locks.
  • Include supplements with vitamins and other hair-beneficial elements if you can’t for some reason change the diet.
  • Opt for gentle shampoos since the state of the scalp also matters when growing hair.
  • Regular trimming will help to keep the tresses healthier and thus it will increase the hair length.
